Washington, DC – Following significant damage to Florida’s Atlantic Coast due to Hurricane Matthew, Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) questioned FEMA on hurricane recovery at an Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing.

DeSantis asked for FEMA to streamline dune restoration efforts and to commit to working closely with all stakeholders ahead of the next hurricane season as well as provide clarity on debris removal guidelines and reimbursement procedures.

“Hurricane Matthew had a significant impact on our district and the recovery effort requires the federal government and our local officials to work hand-in-hand,” DeSantis said.
