Washington, DC – Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06), Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, issued the following statement in response to reports that North Korea has tested a hydrogen bomb:
"orth Korea is run by a maniacal tyrant and its nuclear program is a serious national security threat. If verified, the testing of a hydrogen bomb represents a major advancement in the Kim regime's nuclear capabilities. North Korea is deeply involved in ballistic missile production, cooperates with Iran and is actively seeking to upgrade its missile capacity so that it can reach the United States. The weakness of the Obama administration invites rogue regimes like North Korea to behave in this provocative fashion. Congress needs to impose additional sanctions against the Kim regime and to bolster our nation's missile defense system."
