Washington, DC The Obama Administration today revealed that only 106,185 Americans have enrolled for health insurance through the marketplace exchanges that launched on October 1st.  Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) released the following statement:

"Today testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee confirmed that the administration recklessly launched Healthcare.gov knowing that the site had not undergone sufficient testing or been certified as being secure. ObamaCare is precipitating the loss of insurance for millions of Americans ’ essentially forcing them to use a substandard system against their will ’ in a clear violation of the repeated promise that Americans could keep their plans. Today's enrollment figures demonstrate that ObamaCare is destined to fall far short of what was deceptively promised to ensure the law's passage. I introduced the If You Like Your Health Care Plan You Can Keep It Act to mitigate some of the damage caused by ObamaCare and I urge the House to pass it immediately."

Rep. DeSantis and Sen. Ron Johnson (WI) recently announced joint legislation to halt the cancellation of existing health insurance plans that do not conform to ObamaCare–s mandates. The If You Like Your Health Care Plan You Can Keep It Act will grandfather in all plans offered before December 31, 2013.
