Washington, DC – Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) today thanked congressional leaders for including important reforms that he proposed in the newly-introduced Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 Reform Act. DeSantis introduced his bipartisan Congressional Accountability and Hush Fund Elimination Act in November 2017.

“Members of Congress should never have been allowed to use tax dollars to subsidize their bad behavior,” DeSantis said. “I want to thank Chairman Gregg Harper for incorporating a provision from my Congressional Accountability and Hush Fund Elimination Act that holds members personally accountable for financial settlements. This is an important reform that will bring much-needed accountability to Congress. However, taxpayers deserve to know who has used this secret fund in the past, and I will continue to push for full transparency.”
