St. Augustine, FL – Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06), a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, issued the following statement after it was announced that the Iran nuclear negotiations failed to meet today–s deadline:
"A seven month extension for 'negotiations' will provide Iran with $4.9 billion in sanctions relief and will give Iran valuable time to achieve its nuclear goals. Iran has cheated on the interim agreement and has refused access to key nuclear facilities. Iran seeks a nuclear weapon, not admission to the diplomatic good graces of the so-called international community. The new Congress should put an end to this charade and enact enhanced sanctions that hold this nefarious regime accountable."
